Designed and built a double-wishbone suspension, then refined the assembly through loaded testing and adjustments.

Installed hydraulic disc brakes, shortening stopping distance by approximately 8 feet at 20 mph during test runs. The focus: more consistent handling and reliable braking.

Designed a drone navigated through real-time hand gestures using camera-based tracking. Connected visual input with control behavior to translate gestures into movement.

Programmed obstacle avoidance algorithms to enable autonomous rerouting within a 1-meter proximity.

I’m Abdelilah, a mechanical engineering and computer science student at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in May 2028.

I work across physical design, software, and operations. I’m interested in how the pieces fit together and how testing, data, and iteration can make the whole system better.

Ram Rocketry at VCU

Lead the Recovery sub-team, model the recovery bay and electronics holders in SolidWorks, and integrate dual-deploy altimeters, key-switch systems, and GPS modules.
